Restore data is the process to rescue file that has been deleted or lost from storage medium, usually the hard drive of a computer. These files can be documents, programs, scripts, libraries and any other kind of computer file.

Files can be deleted due to accidental deletion or any other reason. But restore data from Windows and Mac operating system is quite easy. After file has been removed from the Recycle Bin, then recovery is more difficult. But you can recover your file if it is deleted or removed from Recycle Bin. There is data recovery software which helps to recover data deleted / loss from any scenarios.

Data Recovery software is a simple yet effective utility for Windows and Mac OS. It also helps to know how to recover data from Time Machine in Mac operating system. It performs deep scanning to restore data which are inaccessible by normal search. It is simple and user friendly graphical interface allows novice user to handle complex file recovery procedure successfully.

Various scenarios responsible for data loss:

Human mistakes: Files are mostly lost due to human mistakes like accidental deletion of any file using Shift +Delete keys or Command + Delete keys emptying the Recycle Bin folder / Trash Bin by mistake etc.

Recycle Bin Bypass: In Windows operating system, sometimes important files may get deleted by bypassing the Recycle Bin folder. This may happen due to lack of free space available in the Recycle Bin folder.

Defrag failure: Important files or the entire file system may get corrupted due to defragmentation failure. The defrag process may be interrupted or incomplete due to insufficient disk space, software malfunction, operating system error, corrupt data etc.

Power fluctuation: Power fluctuation or instant power surge during formatting, reformatting or repartitioning process may interrupt the whole process resulting in file system corruption. Accidental shutdown during file transfer process may also lead to the file loss that is being transferred.

Third party application: Third party utilities are the software which make use of the application related as well as the system related files. Usage of any unreliable third party utility may delete important files from your computer.

In the above scenarios, though the files are inaccessible to the user they are not permanently deleted. The lost files will remain in their original storage location until they are overwritten with some new data. Once the lost files are overwritten, then they are permanently lost.

  • Do not save any new data in the drive / partition containing the lost files.
  • Do not format or reboot the hard drive.
  • Do not install the file recovery software on the drive where the lost files are located.
  • If you have lost files from any external storage device, then stop using that storage device right after file loss.
  • Make sure that the original location of lost files and the destination path of the files after recovery should not be same.

Features of data recovery software:

  • Restore data even if emptied from the Recycle Bin.
  • The software helps you to retrieve files lost due to any complex file loss scenarios.
  • File recovery after accidental format even if you have reinstalled Operating System.
  • Helps to recover RAID data and also retrieve files from various storage devices like hard disk drives (like SATA / IDE / SCSI etc.) of various popular brands (Seagate, Hitachi, Samsung, Western Digital etc.), flash memory cards (such as SD, XD, Memory stick, MMC, CF etc.) of popular brands (Kingston, SanDisk, Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, Fujifilm etc.) , USB external drives, iPods, FireWire Drives etc.
  • This software supports file retrieval from FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, NTFS5, ExFAT formatted partitions in Windows operating system and HFS+, HFSX, FAT16, FAT32 formatted partitions / volumes on Mac OS X.
  • Retrieve pictures, audios, videos and documents from hard drive, camera card, USB, Zip, floppy disk or other media.
